  • Discover: Knowledge needs and gaps are identified.
  • Design: Pilot KM projects are identified and designed.
  • Develop: Implementation of pilot projects.
  • Deploy: Organization-wide implementation.

Develop KM Strategy

  • KM Vision: A look into the future at how the organization can be, or should be, in the context of knowledge.
  • KM Objective: Specify what could be immediately attained within the shorter-term to move the organization closer to the attainment of its vision.
  • KM Strategy: A plan that describes how an organization will manage its knowledge better for the benefit of that organization and its stakeholders. A good KM strategy is closely aligned with the organization’s overall strategy and objectives.

    • Key Strategic Knowledge Gap: Tacit knowledge of service representatives on solutions for addressing breakdown of machines serviced is not captured and documented.
    • KM Vision: Facilitating the fusion of knowledge.

    • KM Strategy: Systematically build on the knowledge shared and developed within the local communities of practices by service representatives.
