    The factors have a total of three decimal places (one from 3.2 and two from 2.5), so we place the decimal point three places from the right, resulting in 8.0, or just 8.
4. Division
  • Method: When dividing decimals, it may be necessary to move the decimal point in the divisor to convert it into a whole number. Move the decimal point in the dividend the same number of places. Then, divide as you would with whole numbers, placing the decimal point in the quotient directly above where it appears in the dividend.
