Tongue Muscles
- Palatoglossus - tongue elevation
- supplied by the pharyngeal plexus (CN 9 & 10)
- Genioglossus - protrudes tongue forward
- Hyoglossus - tongue depression
- Styloglossus - curls tongue upward & backward
**Only genioglossus, hyoglossus, and styloglossus are innervated by CN 12
