Moles
can count molecules or atoms, need to consider how many atoms per molecule
in real chemistry numbers of atoms + molecules are very large
we use the “mole” as a counting unit to represent numbers of chemicals
1 mole = 6.022 × 10²³ - Avogadro’s number (just like dozen =120)
can also link moles to mass, the mass on periodic table is mass in grams for 1 mol of those atoms
