Types of propaganda: (main types used in WWII are underlined)

emotional appeal- uses fear appeal, tugs on the heart strings.

glittering generalities- include phrases such as "we believe in" very simple to the point.

Testimonials- famous trustworthy people speaking to the audience. 

Bandwagon- "everyone else is doing it you should too"

Plain folks- make the audience believe that their ideas are "of the people."

Scientific approach- uses data to make you believe.

snob appeal- giving the impression that wealthy people are on board.

Card stacking- only shows on side.

Transfer- an ad showing a man of respect enjoying whatever the add is for.

Name calling- links a person or a thing to a negative symbol.

Euphemisms- polite words being used in harsh expressions.
