Elk Grove Village Data Center

  • Flagship data center, identified by the code DF-CH1.

  • Most services are sold out of this location.

  • Houses most locations with spaces nationwide and internationally.

Pricing

  • List price for cross connects is 250250 MRC (Monthly Recurring Cost).

  • Requests for lower pricing (e.g., 150150) should be verified against current charges.

  • List pricing should be used unless otherwise specified.

Renewals

  • For cross connect renewals, prior knowledge is expected.

Customer Facing Ticket

  • Typical cross connect request starts with a ticket.

  • Include the customer-facing ticket for easy access to Zendesk.

Letter of Authorization (LOA)

  • Written permission from the customer or carrier to connect to their equipment.

  • Needed to process the order.

  • LOAs vary in format but contain authorization details, cabinet/cage info, and ports to connect to.

  • Should be attached to the original ticket request.

  • Quoting can proceed without the LOA, but installation cannot.

Key Steps for Cross Connects

  1. Copy the customer-facing ticket number into the opportunity in NetSuite to avoid duplicate ticket creation.

  2. Upload the LOA to the communications tab in the opportunity, under files.

Data Center Locations

  • Identified by data center location codes (e.g., DF-CH1 for Elk Grove Village).

  • Computer rooms within the data center (e.g., CR10, CR14, CR28).

  • Cabinet, panel,cage and port details are specified in the request.

Terms

  • Typically on a twelve-month term unless specified otherwise.

  • For new customers, the default term is Net 15.

Subscription Template

  • Every cross connect uses the xc01(confirm w/ Matt) subscription plan.

  • Set the billing account early in the process to avoid issues in NetSuite.

  • Initial term is twelve months.

  • Default renewal term: one month with thirty-day notice.

  • Important for Equinix data centers to align terms with Equinix.

Equinix Considerations

  • When in an Equinix data center, use the Equinix carrier cross connect scheme.

SKUs

  • Summit Carrier Cross Connect = standard carrier cross connect.

  • Extended Cross Connect = used between floors (common in Downtown Chicago).

Pricing and Adjustments

  • Pricing is listed in the request; verify against the list price (250250).

  • Adjust the quantity or price using the pencil icon.

  • Setup fees do not have specific pricing for each location.

A and Z Points

  • Update the description with specific details for the A and Z points (data center, room, floor, cage, cabinet, and panel ports).

Checklist

Streamline Sydney Renewal

  • Bill of Materials (BOM) provides the SKUs, quantities, and pricing details.

Bill of Materials (BOM)

  • Used to ensure a sanity check.

  • The MRR should be 5,1005,100 and the setup fee should be 1,0001,000.

  • Using a current customer, replacing existing services using the replace subscription function.

Account Page

  • Open the account page in NetSuite and go to subscriptions to view current services.

Upgrading Services

  • Upgrading servers from six thirties to six forties.

  • Five-digit inventory IDs indicate items from stock.

  • Adding advanced monitoring.

  • Upgrading transit package from 300 to 600 megabytes.

  • Including existing subnets.

Add-Ons

  • Adding SKUs to standard plans as add-ons.

  • Do not add SKUs with a usage component as an add-on.

Subscription Management

  • Can re-add subscriptions using the drop-down menu if they were previously built but removed.

Creating the Subscription

  • Replace the existing sub (e.g., Sub 10469) using the replace subscription function.

  • System limitation: can only select one sub to replace; note additional subs in the provisioning instructions.

Adding New Servers

  • Using inventory IDs 22764 and 22765.

  • Replacing six thirties with six forties.

  • Adding premium versions of necessary items.

Pricing and Setup

  • Setting pricing for all the items.

  • Six forties are in the quantity of two = 14501450.

  • Standard setup fees are usually 500500 each for the two servers.

  • Many items such as uplinks and subnets, have 00 associated costs (included in the price).
