Introspection

  • breaks down to inside look with training, mental processes eg memory, perception, thoughts

  • feelings these can be worked out systematically by observing behaviours and breaking down their causes into simple components or basic elements

  • strengths: first scientific study of the mind and revolutionised psychology through introspection

  • weakness: introspection is too subjective, not considered scientific today as it's non-measurable
