While the French had a relatively positive relationship with the American Indians, Britain and Spain were the opposite. The two countries were more interested in controlling and enslaving the Indians.

Causes of the Revolution

One of the biggest causes were all the taxes that were imposed onto the colonists. They included taxes like the Sugar, Stamp, Tea. Navigation, Quartering, Townshend, and the Intolerable Acts. These acts placed taxes on many essential items as well as restrictions. The replies of the colonists were usually protests, boycotts, and resorts to violence. The First Continental Congress is formed to fight against the British.
