2. Pharmacist-Only OTC Medicines (Behind-the-Counter Medicines)

• Classified by government agencies

• Obtained only from a licensed pharmacist

• Mandatory pharmacist's advice on selection and proper use

3. Prescription/Ethical Medicines

• Dispensed by a pharmacist only upon presentation of a valid prescription

• Valid prescribers include physicians, dentists, or veterinarians (PDV)

• Pharmacist's advice is necessary for these medicines.
