  • Timeline Highlights:

    • 1898: First Baptist mission work in Iloilo, led by Rev. Dr. Eric Lund and Braulio Manikan

    • 1900: Establishment of the First Baptist Church (Jaro Evangelical Church)

    • 1901: Founding of the First Baptist Hospital (Iloilo Mission Hospital)

    • 1904: Establishment of the First Baptist Bible School (Bible School for Women)

    • 1905: Founding of the First Baptist School, Jaro Industrial School (JIS); Rev. Dr. William D. Valentine as first president

    • 1906: JIS Republic established as the first student organization in the Philippines
