  • interpreted as the environment

  • waka reo - the world, earth, natural world, country

  • humans are tightly connected to the land and the natural world

  • mauri, mana, wairua - important to both land and people

  • myths should be looked at in a deconstructed pov of the people to who the myth belongs

  • discourse should be carefully examined in respect to the power base (firmly in the Eurocentric world)

  • who is telling the story? Where is there mana? How is the story told according to their mana?

  • reciprocity rejects the idea that land is a commodity
