Percentage Composition
Percentage Composition tells us how much of an element is present in a molecule or compound.
Calculation:
%Composition = No. of atoms of that element x RAM of that element x 100
Total RFM of the molecule or compound
For example:
The % Composition of O2 in Ca(OH)2 = No. of atoms of that element x RAM of that element x 100
Total RFM of the molecule or compound
The same calculation is true for a compound ion.
Calculation:
%Composition = No. of compound ions x RAM of that compound element x 100
