2.14 - Recall To Duty

Introduction

A. Reporting for Duty

  • Policy: Off-duty employees are required to report for duty immediately upon receiving orders.

  • Hierarchy: Employees will follow orders from a supervisor regarding Broward Sheriff's Office (BSO) matters.

B. Responsibilities of Law Enforcement and Fire Rescue Employees

  • Immediate Action: Law enforcement/detention deputies and fire rescue personnel are tasked with responding to public safety matters requiring an immediate response.

  • Status Reversion: In situations necessitating immediate action, these employees will revert to an on-duty status, indicating they will act as if they are on full duty regardless of their actual shift.

C. Employee Notification Protocols
