2.14 - Recall To Duty
Introduction
This section outlines the policies and protocols for employees of the Broward County Sheriff's Office regarding recall to duty.

A. Reporting for Duty
Policy: Off-duty employees are required to report for duty immediately upon receiving orders.
Hierarchy: Employees will follow orders from a supervisor regarding Broward Sheriff's Office (BSO) matters.
B. Responsibilities of Law Enforcement and Fire Rescue Employees
Immediate Action: Law enforcement/detention deputies and fire rescue personnel are tasked with responding to public safety matters requiring an immediate response.
Status Reversion: In situations necessitating immediate action, these employees will revert to an on-duty status, indicating they will act as if they are on full duty regardless of their actual shift.
C. Employee Notification Protocols
Effort to Report: Employees are required to make every reasonable effort to report for duty as quickly as possible when recalled.
Supervisor Notification: Employees hold the responsibility to inform their immediate supervisors about any anticipated delays in reporting back to duty.
Minimizing Delay: Employees must communicate the actions they are undertaking to mitigate any such delays, ensuring transparency and accountability in the reporting process.
