Skill 1: Handwashing pg 228-229
Tips
- Uniform should not touch sink
- Hands lower than elbows when washing
- Hands don’t touch inside of the sink
- Have a good lather with soap
- Make sure to interlace fingers when washing
- Fingertips against palms to clean fingernails
- Dry from fingertips and work up
Use a paper towel to turn of faucet
Procedure
1. Turn on water with dirty hands
2. Wet hands (keep hands lower than elbows)
3. Apply a generous amount of soap
4. Rub palms and back of hands for 20 seconds
5. Lather wrists, fingers, and hands
6. Clean back and in between fingers
7. Clean under fingernails, rub fingertips against palms
8. RInse everything well
9. Dry each hand with one paper towel
- Turn of faucets with new paper towel
- Discard paper towels after
