Physics - Electric Field
Electric field - A region where charges experience a force. Electric field around a charged body exists if electric forces are exerted on it by another charged body in that region. The direction of electric field at a point is the direction in which a point charge would experience or move (under the influence of the field) if places at that point.
Electric field lines - Should be drawn perpendicular to the surface of the charged object. The field lines never intersect. Electric field is greatest close to the charge and least further from the charge
Electric field patterns - 1. Radial electric field due to point charge: The electric field lines radiating from an isolated charged conducting sphere
2. Objects with equal amount of charge
3. Two oppositely charged parallel plates
4. Objects with unequal amount of charge
