2.1 and 2.2 Topics: Remember

2.1 and 2.2 Topics: Remember

2.1—————————

  • Parallel Lines- Never Touch

  • Skew: would touch if they were on the same plane but don’t because they are not

  • Corresponding: same spot of intersection

  • Alternate Interior: on the INSIDE of the Z / interior of 2 lines

  • Alternate Exterior: on the OUTSIDE of the Z / outside of 2 lines

  • Consecutive Interior: on the same side of the transversal and make a C - also add up to 180

2.2—————————

  • How to know if a line is parallel:

  • if alternate interior angles are congruent, then lines are parallel

  • if alternate exterior angles are congruent, then lines are parallel

  • if corresponding angles are congruent, then lines are parallel

  • if consecutive angles are supplementary, then lines are parallel

  • if its a vertical angle then its parallel because angles are equal

  • if its a given a II b then you need one angle on each line for it to be parallel

  • triangle= 180 degrees

  • supplementary is =180
