Disinfection- process that kill or destroys MOST
disease producing organisms and renders the objécts for EXTERNAL useEPA/Hospital grade disinfectants - Use ethyl or isopropyl alcohol, phenolics, quats, iodophors, sodium hypochlorite
Need to follow manufactures directions for use of disinfectants
Used implements must be cleaned with soap and warm water (or soap and detergent), rinsed throughly, dried with a clean towel or other absorbent material, and completely immersed in an EPA/Hospital grade disinfectant for 10 mins or more, removed, rinsed, dried, and stored in a covered container
Implements that are intended to penetrate the skin or enter pores shall be either single-use disposable or subject to sterilization
