Molecules
A molecule is a chemical combination of two or more atoms in a fixed proportion (basically two or more atoms bonded together)
Example: Water (is made from hydrogen atoms and oxygen atoms), Carbon dioxide (is made from carbon atoms and oxygen atoms)
THE 2 TYPES OF MOLECULES
> Elemental Molecule: Contains two or more atoms of the same element in a fixed proportion.
Examples include: atomic oxygen, oxygen (20), and ozone (3O)
> Compound Molecules (also called Compounds): A chemical combination of two or more atoms of different elements in a fixed proportion.
Examples are: common table salt, sodium chloride (NaCI), Water (H2O)and more
