Fractions

Adding

When adding fractions with like denominators, you simply add the numerators and keep the denominator the same. When adding fractions with unlike denominators multiply the 2 denominators to obtain a common denominator before proceeding to add the numerators. To convert the numerators you need to multiply the numerator to the opposite denominator .Adding mixed numbers, first convert them into improper fractions, then proceed to find a common denominator and add the fractions as previously described.

Subtracting

when subtracting fractions with unlike denominators multiply the denominators together and multiply the numerator by the other denominator to find a common denominator, then apply the same process as with addition, subtracting the new numerators while keeping the common denominator intact. When working with mixed numbers, it's important to first convert them into improper fractions, perform the addition or subtraction as described, and then convert the result back into a mixed number if necessary.

Multiplying

when multiplying a fraction multiply the 2 denominators and the 2 numerators
to get the product. when multiplying mixed numbers always put the mixed numbers into improper fractions first, then multiply the numerators together for the new numerator and the denominators together for the new denominator.

Dividing

When dividing fractions, flip the second fractions denominator and numerator and then multiply. Mixed numbers is the same put the whole numbers into an improper fraction and then flip the second fraction again and multiply the adjusted fractions
