The Hydrologic Cycle
Hydrologic cycle- biogeochemical cycle that involves the continuous movement of water on, above, and below the surface of the Earth
Evaporation - the process of turning from liquid into vapor
Condensation - the conversion of a vapor or gas to a liquid
Precipitation - rain, snow, sleet, or hail that falls to the ground
Infiltration - the process where precipitation or water infuses into subsurface soils
Evapotranspiration - the process by which water is transferred from the land to the atmosphere by evaporation from the soil and other surfaces and by transpiration from plants
Surface Runoff - the unconfined flow of water over the ground surface
Bioswale - channels designed to concentrate and convey stormwater runoff while removing debris and pollution
