113 WG & 1st HS Klaxon Response Entry Procedures

Chapter 12: 113 Wing (WG) & 1st Helicopter Squadron (HS) Klaxon Response Entry Procedures

12.1: 113 WG Klaxon Response Entry Procedures

  • Initiation of Response:

    • The Base Defense Operations Center (BDOC) will receive notification from the 113 WG/Control Post (CP) regarding the klaxon alert launch of 113 WG resources.

  • Positioning of Response Forces:

    • The posted Incident Security Response Team (ISRT) will take position in the taxiway gap on the Southeast (SE) side of the Alert Aircraft Parking Area to set up a blocking force.

    • The Emergency Security Response Team (ESRT) will position themselves near the taxiway entrance adjacent to Bldg. #2488 to establish another blocking force aimed at ensuring no alert aircraft are impeded.

  • Authentication of Personnel:

    • All posted Security Forces (SF) should be prepared to give the responding alert personnel the daily sign/countersign.

    • Alert/ground crews that present the wrong sign will be challenged with the sign/countersign again.

    • If the correct sign is provided, personnel will be allowed to proceed.

    • If the wrong sign is presented, personnel will be removed from the area and separated.

    • The BDOC will be immediately notified of the mis-authentication situation.

    • The individual who mis-authenticated will be approached and given the opportunity to provide the duress word.

    • Investigate the reason for the mis-authentication and verify all personnel against the Master Restricted Access Background List (MRABL) with the BDOC.

12.2: HS Klaxon Response Entry Procedures

  • Aircraft Relocation:

    • If alert aircraft are relocated inside Hangar 1, they will be parked on the south side of the hangar.

    • The BDOC and the posted Security Response Team (SRT) will verify aircraft locations upon assuming post and throughout their shift.

  • ESRT Positioning and Traffic Control:

    • The ESRT will position their vehicle adjacent to the Foreign Object Damage (FOD) Check Point from the access road.

    • They will control any traffic entering the affected area.

    • The ESRT will also position their vehicle adjacent to the Southwest (SW) corner of Hangar-1.

  • Proceedings in Relation to Warning Lights:

    • The ESRT will not proceed through the warning lights at any time.

    • If the ESRT is not on the Flight Line, they will respond through Entry Control Point (ECP) #4 or ECP #8 depending on the specific location.

    • Responding personnel are not required to enter through the established entry control point for a klaxon response; they will proceed directly to their designated aircraft.
