Methodology

  • Survey conducted April 8-15, 2025, with 1,380 U.S. adults.
  • Conducted online and by telephone in English and Spanish.
  • Used SSRS Opinion Panel and random digit dial (RDD) sample of prepaid cell phone numbers.
  • Incentives were provided to respondents.
  • Data weighted to match U.S. adult population demographics from Census Bureau’s 2024 Current Population Survey (CPS).
  • Margin of sampling error for the full sample is ±\pm 3 percentage points.

  • Age:
    • 18-29: 19%
    • 30-49: 34%
    • 50-64: 24%
    • 65+: 22%
  • Parents:
    • 33% are parents/guardians of children under 18.
  • Vaccine Confidence (MMR):
    • 83% are very/somewhat confident in the safety of MMR vaccines.
  • Measles Outbreak Perception:
    • 56% believe measles cases are higher this year.
  • Worry about Measles:
    • 51% are very/somewhat worried about the measles outbreak.
  • MMR Vaccine Misinformation:
    • 63% have heard/read that MMR vaccines cause autism; 25% believe it to be true.
  • Beliefs about Measles Vaccine Safety:
    • 33% have heard/read that the measles vaccine is more dangerous than measles infection; 19% believe it to be true.
  • Vitamin A and Measles:
    • 20% have heard/read that Vitamin A can prevent measles infections; 24% believe it to be true.
  • Health Insurance Coverage:
    • 91% are covered by health insurance.
    • 89% insured are less than 65; 11% uninsured are less than 65.
  • Source of Insurance:
    • 43% through employer.
    • 23% Medicare.
    • 15% Medicaid.
    • 12% self-purchased.
  • Childhood Vaccines:
    • 82% normally keep children up-to-date with recommended vaccines.
  • Party Affiliation:
    • 29% Democrat, 30% Republican, 35% Independent.
  • Party Lean:
    • Among independents: 29% lean Republican, 31% lean Democrat.
  • MAGA Support:
    • 75% of Republicans/Lean Republicans support the MAGA movement.
  • Gender:
    • 48% Man, 51% Woman.
  • Transgender:
    • 1% identify as trans or transgender.
  • Sexual Orientation:
    • 3% Lesbian or gay, 5% Bisexual, 89% Straight.
  • Planned Parenthood:
    • 22% have visited a Planned Parenthood clinic.
  • Education:
    • 35% HS grad or less, 27% Some college, 37% College grad+.
  • Race/Ethnicity:
    • 18% Hispanic.
    • 74% White, 14% Black, 7% Asian.
  • Nativity:
    • 84% born in the U.S.
  • Internet Usage:
    • 43% almost constantly, 45% several times a day.
  • Neighbor Interaction (Prepaid Cell Sample):
    • 23% talk with neighbors basically every day, 30% a few times a week.

    • 29% have done volunteer activities in the last 12 months.
