Delay Codes for Oman Air

1. Section Specific Delays

  • 08A: Delays due Commercial Reasons (Code CM)

  • 08B: Delays due Flight Operations (Code FL)

  • 08C: Delays due Engineering (Code EN)

  • 08D: Delays due Planning (Code CM)

  • 08E: Delays due Airport Systems (Code DC)

  • 08F: Delays due Catering (Code CT)

  • 08G: Delays to Airport Operations (Code AS)

  • 08H: Delays to Cabin Crew (Code CC)

2. Scheduled Ground Time

  • NON STANDARD TURNAROUND TIME: Planned ground time is less than the declared minimum.

  • NON STANDARD BLOCK TIME: Aircraft arrives late due to insufficient block time.

3. Late Check-in

  • LATE CHECK-IN REVENUE ACCEPTANCE: Acceptance of revenue passengers after standard check-in counter closure.

  • LATE CHECK-IN GROUPS: Acceptance of large groups (10+) after counter closure. For smaller groups (2-9), use 11A.

  • LATE CHECK-IN DUE CONGESTION: Acceptance of passengers late due to road issues, traffic congestion, etc.

  • LATE CHECK-IN – OTHER: Acceptance of passengers for various reasons, including non-revenue.

4. Check-in Errors

  • CHECK-IN ERROR - PASSENGER AND BAGGAGE: Errors related to passenger or baggage, including weight discrepancies.

  • CHECK-IN ERROR - STAFF: Errors due to untrained or inexperienced staff.

5. Oversales

  • OVERSALES OR BOOKING ERRORS: Denied boarding due to overselling in own system (specific codes apply).

  • OVERSALES - CODESHARE PARTNERS: Denied boarding due to oversales with partners.

6. Boarding Issues

  • BOARDING ERRORS: Issues such as passengers arriving at the wrong aircraft.

  • OFFLOADING: Passengers or baggage offloaded due to various reasons including late arrivals.

  • BOARDING CONGESTION: Delays due to cabin congestion or family boarding issues.

7. Catering Issues

  • CATERING ORDER - LATE / INCORRECT: Catering issues, including insufficient meals onboard.

8. Baggage Processing Delays

  • BAGGAGE SORTING ERRORS: Incorrect tally of loaded baggage.

  • BAGGAGE LATE TO AIRCRAFT: Late or insufficient equipment leading to baggage processing delays.

9. Mobility Assistance

  • GUEST WITH REDUCED MOBILITY: Difficulty handling passengers with reduced mobility.

10. Cargo Handling

  • CARGO DOCUMENTATION ERRORS: Issues with cargo documentation leading to delays in loading.

11. Airport Operations Disruptions

  • AIRCRAFT DOCUMENTATION: Problems related to load sheets or weight and balance issues.

12. Flight Operations Delays

  • FLIGHT PLAN SYSTEM: Delays due to flight planning systems outages or issues.

13. Security Checks

  • CAPTAIN REQUEST FOR SECURITY CHECK: Delays caused by captain's request for additional checks.

14. Weather-Related Delays

  • ATFM DUE TO WEATHER: Air Traffic Flow Management delays due to adverse weather.

15. Miscellaneous Delays

  • INDUSTRIAL ACTION: Delays due to strikes or actions within or outside of Oman Air.

16. Finalization of Delay Codes

  • DELAY CODE TO BE FINALIZED: Used as a temporary code when no appropriate delay code is clear.
