  1. Physical Education - is the integral part of the whole educational program designed to promote the optimum development of the individual physically, socially, emotionally, and mentally through total body movement in the performance of properly selected physical activities. 



  1. Legal Basis - Section 19, Article XIV of the 1987 Constitution of Republic of the Philippines 

a - The state shall promote physical education and encourages sports programs, leage competition, and amateur sports, including training for international competition to foster self-discipline, teamwork and excellence for the development of a health and alert citenzens


b. All education institutions shall undertake regular sports activities throughout the country in cooperation with athletic clubs and other sectors. 



  1. Physical Fitness 

Physical fitness is the ability of the body to carry out tasks without undue fatigue and has extra energy for emergency


  1. Fitness Assessment 

Is a series of tests that helps your trainer determine your physical fitness level and aids in developing your personalized prograp.

Weight in Kilograms/Height in m^2 


Underweight Male <20 Female <19

Healthy range Male 20-25 Female 19-24 

Overweight - Male 26-30 Female - 25-30 

Obese Male >30  Female >30

  1. Health Related Components 

  • Cardiovascular Endurance , Mascular Strength, Mascular Endurance, Flexibility, Body Composition 


  1. Skill Related Components 

  • Power, Reaction Time, Balance, Speed, Agility 


  1. Cardio-respiratory endurance 

-The ability of the heart blood vessels and the lungs to take in and process oxygen in the body

  1. Muscular strength - The ability of the muscle to exert force 


  1. Muscular Endurance  - The ability of the musces to exert repeated muscular contraction against a resistance for a long period of time 

  2. Flexibility - The ability of the joints to move throughout the full range of movement 


  1. Body Composition - Is defined as the percentage of fat, muscle, and bone in the body 


  1. Coordination - The ability to maintain harmonious functioning of musces in producing complex movements 


  1. Speed - The ability to make successive movements of the same kind in the shortest possible time


  1. Agility - The ability to change positions, movements, or direction with quickness and lightness 


  1. Power - The ability of the muscles to release maximum force in the shortest possible time 


  1. Reaction time - Is the ability to react to the interval of time between the signal to respond and the beginning of the response 


Balance - The ability to control and maintain positions or movement of the body
