Program Entry Requirements
Prerequisites (must be completed before applying)
College Algebra
Anatomy & Physiology I (A&P I)
Anatomy & Physiology II (A&P II)
Applied Physics
Intro to Sonography
Co-requisites (needed before graduation; finish early for admission points)
Complete all on “Before You Apply” list (e.g.
immunizations, live & self-paced info sessions, CNA, volunteer labs, Ultrasound Student Assessment)
Course-Planning Sequence
Fall: keep Intro to Sonography + ONE lab science (prefer A&P II if content is fresh)
Spring: take the remaining lab science (Applied Physics) and/or Medical Terminology (– cr hrs, counts for bonus points)
Avoid taking two lab sciences in the same term; aim for grades (only one retake allowed per course)
Drop any pre-Health Sciences courses not listed above; the major is only a financial-aid placeholder
CNA Training
Required 8-week, full-time program
ACC application opens: May 15 (for Fall), Sept 15 (for Spring), Feb 15 (for Summer) — first-come, first-served
Must have immunizations completed before applying
If ACC seats are full/ schedule conflicts, use other state-approved CNA programs (list provided on credentialing site)
Student Lab Volunteer Sessions
Schedule early; slots depend on clinic availability
Minimum: session in each specialty
Diagnostic Medical Sonography
Cardiac Sonography
Vascular Sonography
Competitive applicants log up to sessions per specialty (max bonus points)
Bonus-Point Opportunities

Sept 15: submit Spring CNA application (if needed)
Oct–Feb: finish volunteer labs, live info session, immunizations
By Apr 1: complete Ultrasound Student Assessment (USA)
By Jun 1: submit Sonography Program application

Intro to Sonography course is fully online/asynchronous
Practice with mouse/trackpad before taking the USA (detail-oriented test)
Non-required courses and past low grades outside prerequisites do NOT impact admission ranking
