Parts of the Computer

1. Central Processing Unit (CPU) – principal part of any digital computer system, generally composed of the main memory, control unit, and arithmetic-logic unit.
2. Motherboard – printed circuit board (PCB) that connects all components of a general purpose computer. Often referred to as the “backbone” or “spine” of a computer.
3. Random-access memory (RAM) – computer main memory in which specific contents can be accessed (read or written) directly by the central processing unit in a very short time regardless of the sequence in which they were recorded.
4. Storage Device
a. Hard disk/Hard disk drive – magnetic storage medium for a computer. they flat circular plates made of aluminum or glass and coated with a magnetic material.
b. Solid-state drive – this non-volatile storage media stores persistent data on solid-state flash memory.
5. Power Supply Unit – to supply the computer with enough electrical power to operate.
6. Video/Graphics card – integrated circuit that generates the video signal sent to a computer display. contains a graphics processing unit (GPU), which is a processor dedicated to creating images.

Patient Registration
Patient Registration - a form accomplished by a patient upon entering a new hospital
Contains:
Personal information of the patient
Medical history
Contact information
Payment guarantee information
Health insurance information
Three Types of Patient Registration
Emergency Patient (ER) - someone who has a medical condition which calls for immediate attention, the patient may be suffering from a life threatening condition or in great pain.
Specifics of the registration may vary depending on the circumstances and the patient’s condition.
If the patient is unconscious or not in a condition to provide his birth date, the “Is this a fictitious birthday” box is checked.

In-patient - patient is admitted due to illness or severe physical trauma that they are required to stay for at least one night while waiting for the completion of procedure or examinations as ordered by the prescribing physician; ER patients can also be admitted for further examination and treatment.

Out-patient - a patient who visits the hospital for diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation but he is not required to stay overnight.

In the module of BizBox HIS 8.0, there are list of patients who received treatment without staying in the hospital, this includes the different tasks that could assist them.
