SN1 unimolecular Nucleophilic Sub - prep 2-chloro-2-methyl ppooooopppane(hello pookie if u are reading this then u owe me five bucks) hehe

Goal:

Thhe objective of this lab is to use a SN1 reaction to create 2-chloro-2-methylproprane from 2-methyl-2-propanol. This is done through the isolation of the product through distillation and collecting melting point to asses puritys as well as determining the products structure through analysis of IR spectra.

Procedure. -

1. obtain mass of a 50mL erlenmeyer flaks. Then add 8mL of warm 2-methyl-2-propanol to the flaks. Obtain the mass of the flask with the 2-methyl-2propanol
