Negative numbers:
Subtracting negative numbers:
10 – 4 = 6
10 – 3 = 7
10 – 2 = 8
10 – 1 = 9
10 – 0 = 10
If the pattern continued, the number subtracted becomes negative and the answer continues to increase by 1.
10 – (–1) = 11
10 – (–2) = 12
10 – (–3) = 13
It can be seen that the result of subtracting a negative number is the same as adding it as a positive number: 10 – (–3) = 10 + 3 = 13
★★★Therefore subtracting negative number makes the answer bigger.★★★

Multiplication and division by negative numbers
3 × 4 = 12
2 × 4 = 8
1 × 4 = 4
0 × 4 = 0
If the multiplication continued, the answers follow the same pattern.
(–1) × 4 = –4
(–2) × 4 = –8
(–3) × 4 = –12
You can see that if a positive number is multiplied by a negative number the answer is negative too.
As –3 × 4 = –12 it follows –12 ÷ 4 = –3
★★★So multiplication and division are the same just multiply or divide the number as it positive and add the negative sign (–).★★★

And
Positive and Negative = Negative★★★★★★★
