Activity Patterns
- Physical activity guidelines recommend that teens get at least 60 minutes of physical activity each day.
- An active person meets the guidelines.
- A highly active person performs double the recommended amount of physical activity.
- An inactive person fails to meet the physical activity guidelines.
Dangers of Sedentary Living
- Performing too little moderate to vigorous physical activity increases the risk of disease and early death.
- Long periods of sedentary activity add to this risk.
- The risk of early death decreases with increased moderate-to-vigorous physical activity.

- Consider your program options.
- Set goals.

- Keep a log and evaluate your program.
