INTRODUCTION

I. MEANING OF DISCIPLESHIP
Definition:
Discipleship means being a learner, committed to following and adhering to Christ's teachings.
It involves being set apart, challenged, and taught in Christ's way.
Call to Holiness:
It is a lifestyle of grace and love that is a continual journey towards holiness.
Following Jesus in Humility:
Acknowledging our flaws, trusting in Jesus for transformation.
II. REQUIREMENTS OF DISCIPLESHIP
According to Matthew 16:24, being a disciple involves:
Self-Denial: Forsaking worldly values for Christ, making Him the true treasure.
Readiness to Suffer: Understanding suffering as part of the Christian journey, even to the point of death.
Close Relationship with Jesus: Not just following as a model, but embodying His teachings and love in our lives.
III. ELEMENTS OF DISCIPLESHIP
Gift of Discipleship:
It is a freely offered gift from Christ, not earned but given despite our imperfections.
Call to be with Jesus:
Discipleship emphasizes maintaining a personal relationship with Jesus through prayer and actions.
Mission of Discipleship:
Disciples are sent to bear fruit, proclaim the Word of God, and serve as instruments of love in the world.
