Basic Sentence Structure
1. Subject + Verb + Object
This is the most common order in Spanish sentences.
Example:
Yo (subject) como (verb) manzanas (object).
Translation: I eat apples.
2. Subject (Sujeto)
Who or what the sentence is about.
Can be a noun or pronoun.
Often, subject pronouns (yo, tú, él, ella, etc.) can be omitted because the verb ending shows who the subject is.
Example:
(Yo) hablo español. (I speak Spanish)
You can say “hablo español” and it’s understood that “yo” is the subject.
3. Verb (Verbo)
The action or state of being.
Spanish verbs change (conjugate) depending on the subject and tense.
4. Object (Objeto)
The person or thing that receives the action of the verb.
