Getting involved in college activities can help you adjust to college life. Activities can help you feel that you are part of the environment, and help you to relieve some of the every day stress associated with classes and studying.

Organization to get involved in College:

  • Association of Civil Engineering Students (ACES)

    It aims to provide its members with interesting activities that will help them grow academically and professionally.

  • Association for Computing Machinery (ACM)

    organized to be operated exclusively for educational and scientific purposes, to promote increased knowledge and greater interest in the field of science, design, development, construction, languages, management and other applications of modern computing.

  • Alliance of Information Technology Students (AITS)

    The organization aims to form an alliance among the different specializations of the college in Information Technologv.

  • Artist Connection (AC)

    The main objective of the Artist Connection is to provide a venue to initiate

    productive endeavors where its members can exhibit their talents and skills in

    singing, dancing, acting, and cheer dancing.

  • AC has four sub-organizations namely:

    Music Synergy, Theater and Guild, Exude Dancers, and Tech Squad.

  • FEU TECH College-Y Club

    The organization is non-academic in nature and accepts anyone who is willing to develop themselves holistically.

  1. Stay Positive

    In general, you may start to feel negative about the whole College experience. When this happens, it is crucial that you stay positive.

    Associating with people who have a positive outlook on their college experience and avoiding those who do not are great ways to feel better.

    Thinking of long-term goals will also help you feel more positive about college and education in general.

  2. Go to class

    Attending classes is one of the student important responsibilities. With the new-

    found freedom that college brings, some freshmen may feel tempted to skip classes for other activities.

    Note : Failure to attend may cause you to be dropped from the class. In

    classes where attendance is not taken, you may miss critical information necessary for your studies and may fail the class.

4 Party Smart

Excessive partying can interfere with your studies and it can also be dangerous. So it is important to do it wisely and safely.

NOTE: You should try to keep partying to the weekends or nights when you do not have class to attend the following day. In addition, as a majority of incoming freshmen are of legal age to drink, every effort should be made to avoid alcohol.

5. Stay on Campus

When possible, students should stay on campus during their freshman year. This allows them to submerge themselves into the college experience.

6. Eat and sleep well

During your first year in college, you may sleepless and eat food that are less

healthy than what you are accustomed to.

  • GET ENOUGH SLEEP

    It is important to make the effort to get a full night's rest and recharge for the

    next school day.

  • EAT WELL

    Choose cafeteria food that will keep you full in-between classes. Keep light snacks in your bag as well.

7. Practice Good Stress Management

Stress is an inevitable part of college life. New students must learn how to manage that stress so that it does not interfere with their education or affect their health.

8. Communicate Productively

Speaking with confidence and respect will help students to get the information that they need and help them to avoid confusion or complications with other students.

Being courteous is showing politeness when it comes to one's attitude or behavior

towards others, otherwise known as manners.

  • Courtesy is practicing polite language, actions, and other acts thatwill make others feel respected.

    While the Teacher is Talking

  • Look at the teacher to make eye contact, unless you're writing notes.

  • Don't whisper.

  • Don't pass notes.

  • Don't throw things.

  • Don't laugh

  • .Don't make funny faces to make other people laugh.

  • When You Have a Question

  • Wait for your turn to ask å question. If someone else is speaking, simply wait with your hand raised (or whatever process your teacher requires).

  • Don't say "me, next" or "oh" when you're waiting with your hand raised. You will be noticed.

    During Student Presentations

  • Don't try to distract the speaker.

  • Keep your eyes on the speaker.

  • Don't make rude comments.

  • Try to think of a question if the speaker invites the class to ask.

    When Working Quietly in Class

  • Don't hum or fidget to distract other students.

  • Keep your hands and feet to yourself.

  • Don't brag if you finish first.

  • Don't make rude comments about another student's work or habits.

9.Maintain Healthy Relationship

Maintaining a healthy relationship with both the family and old friends is

important.

Students should avoid people who may have a negative effect on their studies or

their happiness and outlook in general.

10.Stay focus

  • College is a source of many distractions for freshmen and new students.

  • Meeting new people, social activities and the sense of independence that comes with being a college student may make it difficult to stay focused on education.
