Aqeedah 1: Belief in Allah
Believing in Allah
Believing in Allah involves:
Singling out Allah in his actions (rububiyyah):
Allah is unique, and no one shares His attributes or characteristics.
Singling out Allah in His names and attributes (Asma Wa’l Sifa’at):
Allah has 99 names, each with unique characteristics.
Examples include As-Samir (The All-Hearing).
These names should not be given to anyone other than Allah.
Attributes like Allah's hearing and seeing are unique and not comparable to creation.
Allah's hearing is eternal and unlimited, unlike human hearing.
Worship to Allah alone in our actions/ divinity(Uluhiyah):
Actions such as prayer, slaughter, prostration, and supplication should be directed only to Allah.
The core message of all prophets was to worship Allah alone and avoid associating partners with Him.
During the pre-Islamic era, people acknowledged Allah as the Creator and Sustainer and knew His names and attributes.
The primary dispute was about Uluhiyah: worshiping Allah alone in actions without associating partners.
Every messenger was sent to command people to worship Allah alone and abstain from associating partners with Him.
Believing in (Lordship), (Names and Attributes), and (Worship) is essential for true belief.
Each aspect requires Tawhid (Oneness).
Fruits of Believing in Allah
Believing in Allah brings several benefits:
Happiness (As-Sa'adah):
Allah promises a good life for believers.
states
“Whoever does good, whether male or female, and is a believer, We will surely bless them with a good life, and We will certainly reward them according to the best of their deeds.”
Allah's Allegiance, Aid, and Support:

“Allah is the Guardian of the believers—He brings them out of darkness and into light. As for the disbelievers, their guardians are false gods who lead them out of light and into darkness. It is they who will be the residents of the Fire. They will be there forever.“
Jannah (Paradise):
Believers who perform righteous actions will enter Jannah.
“As for those who believe and do good, We will admit them into Gardens under which rivers flow, to stay there for ever and ever. There they will have pure spouses,1 and We will place them under a vast shade.“
