LSU Athletic Administration and Budget Overview

The current position in Communications is vacant.
Similar to the previously described vacancy, Athletic Director Beth Duncan has two options:
- Fill the Position: Allocated budget for this position is $29,000.
- Do Not Fill the Position: In this case, the $29,000 will be cut from the budget.

Number of Programs: Little State University sponsors a total of 20 varsity sports programs within its athletic department.
Division of Sports Programs:
- Total of 16 distinct sports programs recognized:
- Includes combined men’s and women’s track and field categorization as six sports:
  - Men’s Cross Country
  - Women’s Cross Country
  - Men’s Indoor Track and Field
  - Women’s Indoor Track and Field
  - Men’s Outdoor Track and Field
  - Women’s Outdoor Track and Field
Coaching Structure:
- There are 15 head coaches who oversee the 16 sports programs.
- Gymnastics Programs:
- There is one head coach for both the men’s and women’s gymnastics programs.
- In the budget, the gymnastics coach's salary is allocated equally between the two squads for accounting purposes.
Each of the head coaches reports directly to Athletic Director Beth Duncan for oversight purposes.

The staffing decisions made by Athletic Director Duncan may influence the budget allocation, especially considering the options regarding the Communications position and its potential $29,000 impact.
