Understanding Shutter Speed
Controls how long your camera shutter stays open to capture light.
Measured in fractions of a second
Fast speed: Like a quick eye blink (lets in less light).
Slow speed: Like opening and closing your eyes slowly (lets in more light).
Exposure & Aperture Connection
Shutter speed and aperture work together to control total light.
Aperture is like your pupil: dilates in dim light and constricts in bright light.
Fast Shutter Speed (Freezes Motion):
Makes moving objects appear completely still, sharp, and clear.
Best for: Sports, action shots, fast cars.
Captures movement over time, showing light trails or blur.
Best for: Smooth waterfalls, car headlight streaks at night.
Always use a tripod when using a slow shutter speed.
Any small hand movement will cause unwanted camera shake and blur your photo.
