Camera Shots

Close up: character/subject takes up most of the frame, can show feeling and help audience empathise.

ECU (extreme close up: shows subject very large and in detail, might be used to demonstrate product in advert or draw attention to something significant.

Medium close up: usually shows a person from chest up, used in TV as it replicates how we see people in real life.

Long shot: shows a person/group/location in full, can establish information, for example the character is in danger.

Low angle shot: is used to communicate power and importance as camera looks up at subject.

Worms-eye-view shot: extremely low angle shot.

High angle shot: shows insignificance as camera looks down at subject.

Birds-eye-view: extremely high angle shot.
