What are the qualifications to be president?
At least 35 years old, a natural born citizen, must have lived in the US for at least 14 years
Explain the six constitutional powers of the President.
Commander-in-Chief: Leads the military
Chief Executive: Enforces laws and issues executive orders.
Chief Diplomat: Manages foreign relations and negotiates treaties.
Chief Legislator: Can propose laws and veto legislation.
Chief of State: Represents the U.S. at ceremonial functions.
Chief Administrator: Directs the executive branch and federal agencies.
Describe Impeachment.
The process of charging and removing a president for wrongdoing. The House impeaches, and the Senate holds the trial.
What is the Cabinet?
A group of advisors, mostly the heads of government departments, who help the President make decisions.

Vice President, Speaker of the House, President pro tempore of the Senate, Secretary of State
What are the 22nd and 25th amendments?
22nd: Limits the President to two terms.
25th: Explains what happens if the President can’t serve or if the VP position is empty.
How did FDR exert power over congress and the Judiciary?
FDR expanded government power through laws and appointed judges to support his plans.
What is an executive order?
A rule by the President that has the force of law.
What is the electoral college? How many electors total are there? What happens if there is a tie?
A system where electors vote for the President. There are 538 electors. If there’s a tie, the House of Representatives decides.
How are electors apportioned?
Each state gets electors based on its number of representatives in Congress (Senators + House members).
Explain the primary system. What is the function of delegates? What is the Party Convention?
The primary system is how political parties select their presidential nominees through elections held in each state. Voters choose their preferred candidate, and delegates are chosen to represent them at the party convention. Delegates' main role is to vote for the candidate they were selected to support. At the party convention, delegates formally nominate the party's candidate for president and finalize the party platform.
What are the first four cabinet departments? What functions do they perform?
State: Deals with foreign relations.
Defense: Manages the military.
Treasury: Handles finances.
Justice: Oversees law enforcement.
How are the secretaries of each department chosen and confirmed?
The President nominates secretaries; the Senate confirms them.
What is a bureaucratic regulation?
Rules created by government agencies to carry out laws.
What is an interest group?
A group that tries to influence government policy on certain issues.
