Healing the official’s son

  1. In what ways should we copy the officials' behavior? We should have faith that encourages action.

  2. What was the officials requests of Jesus? How did Jesus respond? What can we learn from this? The official asked Jesus to travel to his house, but Jesus healed the son from a distance. This teaches us that God is good but may not answer our prayers in the way that we expect.

Jesus heals a bleeding woman

  1. What non physical difficulties did this woman's bleeding cause her? It made her ritually unclean, so it was hard for her to go to the temple or be around others. It was a lonely and difficult existence. 

  2. What do we learn from the bleeding woman? That we should turn to Jesus in time of desperation.

  3. How was the woman healed in this story? She touched Jesus and He felt power leave him and heal the woman. Jesus said “Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be freed from your suffering.”


Lame Man at the Well

  1. What false hope was the man looking to for healing? The well of Bethsaida which was said to bubble up and heal people

  2. What do we learn from this lesson? That we should remember that healing comes from Christ.

  3. Why did Jesus ask the lame man at the well the obvious question of if he wanted to be healed? Because Jesus wants us to humbly admit our needs. 


Jesus feeds 5000

  1. Even though Jesus 12 disciples were around who is it that provided Jesus with the 5 loaves and 2 fish? A young boy

  2. What do we learn from Jesus multiplication of the 5 loaves and 2 fish? Little can be made much in the hands of Jesus if only we offer what we can. 

  3. At the end of this passage the Jews wanted to take Jesus and make him their King, how did Jesus respond to this? Jesus slipped away so they could not make him king, he knew he had a different purpose.

  1. In the times of Jesus what did people think often caused disabilities? They believed disabilities were a result of the sins of a person or their parents

  2. How did the pharisees react to Jesus healing someone on the sabbath? They wanted to arrest Jesus because they cared more about following rules than loving people

  1. What is the sabbath? The sabbath is one day a week that the jews were supposed to focus on God and rest.

  2. Why did the Pharisees get angry when Jesus healed on the sabbath? The Pharisees were so focused on following rules that they even considered Jesus healing people on the sabbath to be breaking the law. 


Lazarus is Resurrected from the Dead. 

  1. Who were Lazarus’ sisters who went and found Jesus when they realized he was dying? Mary and Martha

  2. How did Jesus react to the death of his close friend Lazarus and what does this show you? The Bible says that Jesus wept in sorrow at Lazarus death, this shows us Jesus experienced human emotions as we do

  1. What was the disciples reaction when they first saw Jesus walking on the water? They were frightened

  2. What was the weather and time of day when the disciples were on the boat and saw Jesu walking on the water? It was night time and the weather was stormy.

(Jesus has come to save the entire world from the curse of sin and we see on occasion that an individual's earthly suffering is worth the eternal impact that can be made when Jesus uses that situation. Examples include the man born blind or the resurrection of Lazaus when Jesus did not go and heal Lazarus immediately but waited 4 days after he died to raise him from the dead. Jesus does these things so that people will believe in him, have faith and eternal life.)
