Tools used

  • Stripper

  • Screwdriver

  • Linesman pliers

  • Screw Drill

Outlet: Hot, Ground, Neutral

3-way Switch: Hot, Hot, Hot, Ground

Hot switch - Hot wire is connected from main power source

Leg switch - Hot wire is connected to light

  1. Screw 3 conduit boxes down

  2. Cut 12/2 main wire and strip both ends (abt 6 inchs)

  3. Insert 6 inch of bare wire into power box and screw down

  4. Pull other end of bare wire through conduit 1 (lightbox)

  5. Cut a piece of 12/3 wire through conduit 1 to conduit 2. Repeat from 1 to 3

  6. For Conduit 1:

    1. Take black wire from light and twist to conduit 1 black wire

    2. Take black wire from 12/2 main wire and twist to conduit 3 black wire

    3. Take white wire from light and twist to 12/2 main white wire

    4. Take all remaining wires, strip, cut, and twist to their equals

    5. Put wire nuts on all exposed twists and fold into box

    6. Fold wire nuts into box

  1. For Conduit 2:

    1. Take the bare wires left out and make a small hook

    2. Connect wires to switch: black wire to common (black screw), white wire (in place of blue wire), and red wire to transfers (other 2 screws), and copper pigtail to ground (green screw).

  2. For Conduit 3:

    1. Take the bare wires left out and make a small hook

    2. Connect wires to switch: black wire to common (black screw), white wire (in place of blue wire), and red wire to transfers (other 2 screws), and copper pigtail to ground (green screw).

  3. For Power Box:

    1. Strip edges of wire

    2. Place neutral wire with yellow wire. Screw down

    3. Place ground wire with green wire. Screw down

    4. Place hot wire in circuit breaker (hole under screw). Screw down

  4. Plug in cord
