Tourism means visiting new or unfamiliar places outside of ur region, visiting for recreational pleasure, learning new culture and traditions

sense of travel, freedom

• if you travel you may not be a tourist, for example business bcs its not leisure

• if u visit a place a million times u stil could be a tourist, you are just familiar

Tourism that does not include freedom:

• criminals

• pilots

• refugees

• athletes

There are different types of motivations between these groups of ppl

The world has gotten smaller and more connected

Outcome for businesses?

• more competition

• more opportunity to ‘disrupt’

• different and more possible customers

Outcome for us tourists:

• more choices
