The circle
Circle and Its Parts
Circle → A round shape. All points are the same distance from the center.
Parts:
Center → The middle point of the circle.
Radius → Line from the center to the edge of the circle. (The plural of it is radii)
Diameter → Line across the circle, passing through the center (2 × radius).
Chord → A line joining two points on the circle (doesn’t have to pass through the center).
Circumference → The boundary or edge of the circle.
Arc → A part of the circle’s circumference.
Sector → A “slice” of the circle, made by two radii and an arc (like a pizza slice).
Segment → The part between a chord and the arc above it.
Tangent → A line that just touches the circle at one point.
