Coral Bleaching Experiment

Title: Bleaching of Corals in Different Water Acidities

Question to ask: Does water acidity affect coral life?

Hypothesis: Higher water acidities cause corals to bleach more at a faster rate.

Prediction: IF the acidity in water is greater than normal seawater, THEN the corals will bleach more at a faster rate.

Independent Variable: Water Acidity (pH scale)

Dependent Variable: Degree of bleaching in corals (in percentages)

Control group: Normal Seawater

Constants: Environment, types of coral, amount of CO2 or pollution in water, water temperature, depth of water.
