Catch up with: Reach the same point/level as
Example: She worked hard to catch up with the rest of the class.
Check in: Register at a hotel or an airport
Example: We need to check in at the hotel by 3 PM.
Check out: Leave a hotel; investigate
Example: We will check out of the hotel at noon.
Example: The police are checking out the suspect's story.
Drop off: Let someone get out of a vehicle; fall asleep
Example: Can you drop me off at the airport?
Example: I dropped off during the movie.
Get back: Return from a place
Example: What time did you get back from your trip?
Go away: Go on holiday
Example: They are planning to go away for the weekend.
Keep up with: Stay at the same point/level as
Example: It's hard to keep up with all the new technology.
Make for: Go in the direction of
Example: We made for the nearest exit when the fire alarm went off.
Pick up: Stop in a vehicle to give someone a lift (đón ai)
Example: I'll pick you up at the station at 6 PM.
Pull in: Stop by the side of the road in a car
Example: The car pulled in to let the passengers out.
Run over: Hit with a car
Example: He accidentally ran over a squirrel while driving.
See off: Go to a train station or airport to see someone leave
Example: We went to the airport to see her off.
Set out/off: Start a journey
Example: We set out on our journey early in the morning.
Take off: Leave the ground (usually referring to an airplane)
Example: The plane took off at exactly 10 AM.
Turn round: Go back in the opposite direction
Example: We missed the exit, so we had to turn round.
