• Will provide 60% of Irish gas
• Created over 1,200 jobs while being built
• Now employs 175 people
• Local communities have benifited => loacl GAA club recieved €450,000 towards the development of their grounds
• Scholarships were offered to students to help their college or uni education

Negative socio-economic impacts

• Safety concerns
• Environmental issues => harm to local water supply
• Impact on wildlife => waste material dumped into Broadhaven Bay
• Carbon + nitrogen + sulfur gasses realeased
• Eyesore
