Welcome to the RSA Training
The RSA training aims to equip individuals with:

Module 1: NSW Liquor Laws
1.1 What is RSA?
RSA stands for Responsible Service of Alcohol. It applies to any business or organization selling alcohol.
Objectives of RSA include harm minimization and promoting responsible attitudes toward alcohol consumption.
1.2 NSW Liquor Laws
Governed primarily by the Liquor Act 2007 and Liquor Regulation 2018.
Regulations control where, when, and how alcohol can be sold.
Key Offences
Selling alcohol to minors or intoxicated persons is illegal and can attract significant penalties.
Module 2: Intoxication
2.1 Law Relating to Intoxication
The law prohibits serving alcohol to intoxicated customers.
Responsibility to assess a customer’s level of intoxication and refuse service if necessary.
2.3 Preventing Intoxication
Encourage responsible drinking through:
Providing water and food options.
Monitoring alcohol consumption.
Refusing service if intoxication is observed.

Minors are defined as individuals under 18.
It is illegal to serve alcohol to minors or permit them to remain in certain areas.

Verify IDs to confirm age.
Monitor for secondary sales (purchasing alcohol on behalf of minors).

4.1 Mandatory Strategies
Training, trading hours, signage, and responsible promotions are required by law.
4.2 Best Practices
Implement house policies and plans of management to minimize harm and promote RSA in venues.
Maintain incident registers for tracking harmful incidents.
Module 5: Compliance and Enforcement
5.1 Compliance Overview
Liquor & Gaming NSW promotes voluntary compliance and applies enforcement actions when necessary.
5.3 Consequences of Non-Compliance
Penalties for violations can include fines, imprisonment, and loss of liquor licenses.
