Energy is used for:

• Construction: to make larger molecules from smaller molecules

• Contraction: to contract the muscles of animals, allowing them to move

• Homeostasis: to keep the body temp of warm-blooded animals relatively constant

• Cellular respiration: happens in every cell of the living body.
