Shield represents patriotism
Gear represents industrial society
Torch represents knowledge
Orbital circles represent technology
Hands represent the individual
Official colors of SkillsUSA:
Red and white represent the individual chapters and states
Blue represents the common union of the states and of the chapters
Gold represents the individual- the most important element of the organization
Purpose for the Framework:
Provides a common language for students to articulate what they gain from SkillsUSA participation to employers, school administrators, parents and other students
Assesses student skill development along a learning continuum of awareness, demonstration and mastery
Creates a vision for SkillsUSA programs at the local, state and national levels to ensure quality student-led experiences that build skills in all members
What do the Essential Elements of the Framework look like in action:
Integrity: Consistently doing the right thing in all situations, acting with honesty and accountability, and aligning one's words and actions with their values.
Work Ethic: Being prepared for tests and completing all assignments diligently and on time
Professionalism: Being properly acquitted with workplace standards such as helping customers in a department store
Responsibility: Owning up to all actions made
Adaptability: Accepting and working through new tasks and situations
Self-Motivation: Working on projects or hobbies because of enjoyment or interest
Communication: Being able to effectively express ideas and opinions while also being able to hear about them and consider them
Decision Making: Using common sense and logical thinking to determine a solution for a presented problem
Teamwork: Being able to work well with others and to be cooperative
Multicultural Sensitivity and Awareness: Being respectful of all cultures and people by not discriminating or judging anybody different to yourself or normalities you are familiar with
Planning, Organization, and Management: Creating, designating, and implementing processes to complete tasks assigned through the workplace
Leadership: Influencing the minds and direction of others while also doing it respectfully and effectively
Computer and Technology Literacy: Using technology in innovative ways along with using it responsibly

Community Engagement: Establishing a friendship with a returning customer so that they keep returning
Financial Management: Creating a budget and sticking to it
Leadership Development: Inspiring others towards a common goal
Partner and Alumni Engagement: Urging past members to contribute to chapter activities
Workplace Experiences: Gaining work experience or skills required for certain workplaces such as coding or law
