1. Sacred Scripture (Bible)-Written word of God

2. Sacred Tradition-The Word of God that has been passed down to us from the time of the apostles.

Sola Scripture

• The belief that all religious knowledge comes only from scripture.

Magisterium

• The teaching authority of the Church.

• Held by the College of Bishops.

Apostolic Succession

• Every bishop can trace ibis ordination back to the apostles.

The Magisterium is important because…

1. It keeps us united.

2. Preserves and protects the teachings of the faith.
