Effective prayer

-James identifies the role of faith in producing effective prayer. The effectiveness of prayer depends on faith, steadfastness, perseverance and one’s righteousness.

-Believers should not doubt when they pray. Anyone that doubts can be compared to the waves of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind.

-A double minded person is unstable in all his ways and will not receive anything from God.

-If anyone lacks wisdom, let him ask from God who gives to all men generously and without reproach.

-Anyone suffering should pray.

-He who is cheerful should sing psalms and songs of praise.

The elders of the Church should be called to pray over the sick and anoint the sick with oil in the name of the Lord. The prayer of faith will save the sick man. If he had committed any sin, God will forgive him.

-Confess your sins to one another and pray for one another to attract God’s healing power and forgiveness of sins.

-The prayer of a righteous man has great power in its effect.

-Elijah prayed that rain should not fall for 3 years.

-He prayed again that it should rain and rain fell.
