  1. Petals – brightly colored appendages that aid in attracting

pollinators

  1. Stamen- male part the flower, includes anther + filament

  2. Filament – stalk that holds up pollen-producing sac

  3. Anther – terminal sac that produces pollen

  4. Carpel (aka “pistil”)- female part of flower, includes stigma, style, ovary

  5. Stigma – sticky tip of carpel that receives pollen

  6. Style – long tube leading from stigma to ovary

  7. Ovary – structure at base of the carpel that produces ovules

  8. Ovules develop into seeds if fertilized
